Saturday was the first day we really started to feel the impacts of the sickness come upon us.
We weren’t sure how we would be feeling on Sunday for Kath’s birthday so we donned our Hogwarts robes and headed out.
We went into Universal Studios and headed straight to The Mummy. This ride did not disappoint. We also did some poses for the camera which was fun. We left The Mummy area and went into Diagon Alley and headed to The Escape from Gringotts ride. There was a fairly significant line here, even for us with express passes. The theming in here was really good and the goblins were so life like (as far as goblins go) and the interior of the bank was superb. This ride was like a rollercoaster but with simulation screens as well, kind of hard to describe, so you’ll all just have to come and try it yourself. It was a fairly good ride as it was the only Harry Potter ride we have never been on before in any park around the world.
We then went to Fortescue’s Icecream parlour and had a butterbeer softserve in a cone. It was really delicious. We then went to Kings Cross Station and went through platform 9 3/4 and got the Hogwarts Express to Hogsmeade.
There were 2 annoying kids in our carriage who didnt even care about Harry Potter and leaned all over the windows which had “outside scenes ” playing from the film as we went along, so that was a bit frustrating. When we arrived at Hogsmeade we went and lined up for the Forbidden Journey ride, this was the same ride we went on in LA and in Japan. We then went on the Flight of the Hippogriff rollercoaster.
We then left the Wizarding World and went to Seuss landing which was pretty cool. Here we had pictures with some characters.
We continued on our way to The Hulk rollercoaster. This was an awesome ride which we pretty much got straight onto, so jumped back in line as soon as we got off.
We then walked through the Superhero section and went on the Spiderman ride, that was similar to the Transformers ride, so wasn’t amazing, it also had some troubles while we were on there. We then had a picture with Captain America and went to go on some water rides.
The Dudley Do Right ride was similar concept to the Log Ride at Dreamworld, it was quite up to date though and had some good theming. We then went on the Jurassic Park ride. We were fairly wet at this stage and my shoes were soaked.
We then went to the Raptor encounter and met Blue.
Kath then got a call from her parents for her (Australian time) birthday so she had a chat to them while we made our way back to Hogsmeade for the night show on Hogwarts Castle.
We waited about 30mins for the show to start and it was pretty cool the way they did the images on the castle.
At the end of the show we made our way back to our hotel and ended up having pizza for dinner.
The pizza was not too bad but was massive! We then had a fairly early night as we were not feeling awesome.
